Today we want to share and demonstrate this point by telling you a powerful story of a man who renewed hope when time gets tough.
Sometimes in life we faced with hardship that we felt like throwing a white towel and work away was the easiest option right?
But let me tell you this, no matter how difficult things are, remember, don’t ever give up. If you do give up too quick and too soon without exploring every option and possibility, you are selling yourself short.
Here is the story:
Jimmy Valvano was a coach of The North Carolina State Wolfpack basketball team in 1980-1990. After a big victory winning the NCAA Basketball Championship in 1983. He was asked by a reporter why his team was able to win the game? and Jimmy answered was ” Because we believe that you should never give up!”
“So no matter what the odds, no matter what the obstacle, no matter how much others might doubt, you need to believe in yourself, know that you can do it and then be relentless in the pursuit of that objective. Never Give Up!”
Jimmy V. was later diagnosed with inoperable cancer, but because of beliefs, because of his values, because of his passion, he was able to live his life fully. His story should be an inspiration to all of us. So don’t let any obstacle blocking your way. If you believe you can help someone, just do it. If you don’t do everything in your power to provide that help. Whether, today, tomorrow, the next day, the next week, the next month… Never Give Up!
Jimmy later became a motivational speaker, founded the Jimmy V. Foundation which has raised millions of dollars in the fight against cancer, and brought dignity and respect to himself, his family, his causes and his passions. He became even larger in death than he was in life simply because he refused to be conquered, he refused to let circumstances dictate how he would live his life.
