Make happy, stay happy!

The quest for happiness seems to be one that is tantalizingly close, but is always out of reach for a lot of us due to an avalanche of doubt, stress, and distractions.

Are you one of those seeking to look beyond the daily grind, wanting meaning to your life and becoming restless? Trying to weigh up what you want to do?

Well, it seems your task is trying to find happiness.

One of my clients was always restless with life until she found the right question and appropriate answer.

What is the meaning of life?

Whatever you want it to be. Her quest for happiness has never been happier, and is more content than ever.

Here are some tips to how to find happiness:

Gratitude: Express thanks for the smallest things. Being happy means recognizing the little things, and being grateful doesn’t stop you from feeling good about yourself.

Be positive: Optimistic people are happy because they don’t get dragged down by negativity. They rise through the dark days by having absolute faith in their being. Being pugnacious will punch through the dark clouds easily.

Be confident: Happy people rarely measure themselves by that of others. They benchmark, inspire and motivate themselves. Insecurity and feeling inadequate are not on their menu! They are comfortable and competent in knowing they have unique qualities that can lead them on. Happy people can also cope with anything that is thrown at them.

Be compassionate: Indulging in acts of kindness will help give your soul a tremendous boost.

Nurture: Single, happy people, live longer than single, miserable ones because they invest time and effort in nurturing deeper connections with friends and family.

Let go: Happy people have the balls to let go of hatred, grudges, and bad experiences, and move on. They accept some things aren’t meant to be. Conflicts can’t be avoided, but walking away when the times are right gives them peace. They enjoy living in the moment.

Slow down: Happy people slow their lives, savour life’s small moments and enjoy them. Finding reasons to be cheerful are more fruitful. It’s great to strengthen your connection to everything around you and realize that sometimes you have no control of what happens. What will be, will be.

Set Purposeful goals: Happy people set goals to achieve their dreams. Negative people moan about them! Goals give you a sense of responsibility and a driving force to get you going.

Exercise: Don’t sit on your backside. Get the sun on your back and naturally, you feel happier. Regular exercise helps stimulate mental and emotional health. Particularly our global pandemic and being lockdown at home.
