When is The Right Time To Renovate

There is a time for everything, or so they say. I still find myself impatient and wanting to do everything now. I think it’s partly a generation thing. It seems that patience is in short supply these days. We are surrounded too by ads and slogans than underline that we can have whatever we want. And not just anytime. Have it now!  But is this the case?

I’m finding myself between houses, and looking for the next project. And I admit, in spite of having two renovations behind me, I’m feeling panicked – which is totally ridiculous. The two houses I helped work on in the past were not the result of me frantically searching.  They simply turned up. The right time and the opportunity to develop was there. It was right. I found myself up a ladder with a toolbelt. And I was happy.

There was a time too when I was so far off the property ladder that I could only look up in envy at what others had, wishing it was me. And here I am again. But I am trying not to worry or panic about all those opportunities being lost. Maybe there were not right for me. Maybe the next renovation I will be involved with is already there, with my name on it. I just don’t know it yet.

I should stop looking. Take some time one morning to really prioritise. It is said that ‘want without need’ is a powerful energy. Maybe the time for doing up a the house is not right.  Could there be such a time?  Is there a good time, or a bad time for that matter?

It may not be a bad time; it just might be that for a while I should focus on other things, such as career or family. And universe, I do not have a problem with that. I simply think that I love the challenge of a glorious project. I love the vision and the satisfaction of seeing it to completion.

I just love the whole magic that happens when you are inspired to tackle something tangible and big.  It’s mind blowing that you can be a part of process that can totally transform a building into something special and desirable. The ability to create fabulous living spaces is a talent I envy. A team like www.milliondollarmakeovers.net.au really have it all. But it maybe that I haven’t yet come across the next project.  Perhaps it is that my heart has not latched onto the house I will tackle.

I walk down streets eyeing up potential doer uppers. I subscribe to auction lists and regularly open up the search engine to see what is out there. Is the time right for you?  Is the place you are living in ready for the transformation?  It may be that your next project is sitting right under your nose.  It may cost less than you think. It may be more, much more than you can imagine.  How will you know?  I think you will know, and when the time is right, you will make it happen.
