If you haven’t already, NOW is the time to think and plan how you’re going to approach 2014.
The start of a brand new year is a time when we are often focusing on making a new start and, as some people would say, “start with a clean slate”.
You’d be well familiar with people eagerly setting new year’s resolutions, or setting new goals they want to achieve.
But how many resolutions actually last the year through?
That’s why the first three months of the new year is the perfect time to get started.
Here are some ideas that you can apply to your business right now!
1. Send a new year’s greeting with a “value-add”
Successful Artists and Designers know how to stay in touch with people. They know how to keep their art on people’s minds. You could send a compelling holiday greeting and be sure to include something of value that relates to your business and your specialty. For example, you could include a gift voucher for their next investment in your art. If you are planning to send a greeting card my suggestion would be to send it out on the first week of the new year so it won’t get lost in the festive season mail.
2. Reconnect with past clients
You’ve heard the saying that it’s much easier to sell to existing clients than it is getting a new one. The new year is a time to reconnect with past clients. It’s a great opportunity for you to invite them back to your business to try your products or services. You could offer past clients a gift with purchase when they place an order. Be creative and come up with some great ideas to entice them back to shop with you.
3. Value existing clients
Thanking your customers for their business is a great gesture showing your appreciation. A little gift can go a long way, or a nice personal hand written card can bright up their busy festive season. Every customer loves being appreciated and receiving acknowledgement.
4. Gift voucher promotion
Quite often people overlook the humble gift voucher, so send a reminder to the people you know and highlight your gift voucher on your website, or in your store. It you want to take it one step further, you can pick a theme that is applicable to your target customer.
