Are you suffering from the “I Know” Syndrome?

How many times have we heard or have we said these two words…

“I Know!”

The minute we said “I Know” we close our mind. We stop learning. That’s because we’ve decided that we already know.

The “I know” syndrome will stop us from seeking opportunity. It will stop us from learning, or growing.   It also stops others sharing their knowledge and experiences with us too.

Before you say “I know”  have a think about this question:

If “I know” this already then how well am I applying it in my life and business?

There’s a difference between “knowing” and “doing”…

As your coach, we work with lots of people who are striving for knowledge everyday...

We meet people we call “Seminar Junkies” too.

Do you know who they are?

Seminar Junkies are people who regularly attending workshops, and seminars… over and over again… They read all the latest self help or motivational books… Do everything in fact, but except ever take any action

Why?

Because they fall into what we call the “I know it all” trap mode.

“I am know it all…” trap mode– is the worst one out of the 4 trap modes. You think you know it all, and you will have all the answers for everything  even “excuses” are your best friend. If you are in this trap mode you will tend to sabotage your growth and opportunity to achieve your goals and dreams.  You will come up with different solutions (mostly excuses) to stop yourself doing the “Do” because you think you know it all and  all the outcome so  you won’t take any action.

We all like to learn new thing right? and we’re also fascinated with knowing NEW tricks too.

But knowing is not the limiting factor. It’s the doing that’s the real issue here.

So if  want to achieve your goals and dreams,  focus on the importance tasks and doing them consistently everyday, this is how you get real results.

That’s why I say “knowing too much”  can be back fire on you.

No one is  ever going to be successful just by knowing. My advice is to spend less time and energy learning new thing. Instead, spend time and energy doing what you already know works for you. With our clients we encourage them to adopt the 3MD (3 must do tasks everyday). If you can do that the 3MD everyday, in 3 to 6 months your Business LifeStyle will transform and  reach  to a new whole level.

So let’s all start learning little less and doing more the “Do” by taking action. I can assure you that your life and business will improve exponentially.

“People won’t change what they know, they’ll change what they feel”

~ Vinh Van Lam

So, change your mindset and open up your mind .

Stop using the “I Know” excuse. Try one of these statements instead when you engage in a conversation:

  • Wow! Isn’t that interesting!
  • What a great idea!
  • Love it! Thanks for sharing!

These expressions are powerful. They set you in a more positive state, ready to consider things in a different perspective.

Most importantly of all though…

Take action!
